The Problem

2,131,180 prisoners are held in Federal or State prisons or in local jails... an increase of 2.3% from mid-year 2003, less than the average annual growth of 3.5% since year-end 1995. There was an estimated 486 prison inmates per 100,000 US residents — up from 411 at year-end 1995. The number of women under the jurisdiction of State or Federal prison authorities increased 2.9% from mid-year 2003, reaching 103,310 and the number of men rose 2%, totaling 1,390,906.

We at Christ Truth Ministries rejoice in the fact that in many prisons we have an effective evangelistic outreach to inmates, offering them an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. We offer these inmates the opportunity to systematically study God's Word so they can grow spiritually. Christ Truth Ministries is dedicated to the task of providing biblical study helps to the inmates toward this end.
